Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Anyone else's sibe do this?

When jas and i are walkin there are times she will just STOP and look over into the grass and leaves with that cute perky ear look. Then she'll POUNCE!!! She'll then procede to dig and root until she gets the mole..shakes him to make sure he's dead...throws him on the ground and rolls on him. She'll then stand up...shake off and continue walking as if nothing happened. It's so funny to watch. I'm gonna try to get a video of her doin it. I have no idea how she knows they are there but 9/10 times when she pounces...there IS a mole!

Don't have moles in my yard, but when we were visiting my parents one time Luka got a mole. She tried to eat it. I love when they do that pounce!

Ghost caught a mole once and gobbled it down alive. He also digs up mice. I have learnt to recognize the way his ears go when he is listening to something and about to start digging!

Incidentally, the mole made him sick. There were a few dead moles around last summer and I kept him well away from those in case someone had put poison down.

Aurora digs for moles constantly! Our yard looks like a minefield. Most of the time when you look out into the yard all you see is her rear-end sticking up in the air, her tail waving like a flag and dirt flying everywhere.

Gophers are bigger, my brother who retired a few years ago (or at least tries to retire) started trapping gophers and other vermin after his retirement just for something to keep occupied with. Word of mouth has him all over the San Diego area catching those lil buggers and making money to do so. Soon he is off to Beijing, China to build a plating factory for the Chinese, but I'm sure the Chinese government will cheap out and leave out the pollution devices and crap up their country even more.
