Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Hello
My Name is Sheri and we are seriously considering a Siberian Husky. I have been doing a bit of research. Can anyone recommend a good breeder? Does not matter where breeder is located. We would like to start with one, eventually we will get another. We want females. Our first concern is that they must bred to standard. And we want to be able to pick out our puppy or let our puppy choose us. We know what colors we want, however the dogs health is our first concern.

Most of us here have gotten our dogs through the shelter/rescue system. It's been a long time since any of us have had to weed through finding a good breeder. In general you want to look for someone who is breeding to standard, will not guarantee a color (if someone is breeding for certain colors that is a big red flag), health tests for eyes and hips, only breeds one breed instead of having multiple going on site, and preferably they work their dogs to prove that their animals are sound. If I were looking to buy a puppy I personally would attend AKC events and talk to people at the show who have the breed and see where they got theirs. Good breeders don't breed real often, usually when they are ready to get their next personal working dog lined up, so there could be a wait list. By talking to owners who are showing or racing their dogs you can get an idea of how well that breeder is producing something that is meeting conformation and how structurally sound the dogs are remaining as they age and are worked. There are a lot of "show" dogs out there that structurally would fall apart if they actually had to do much work, so something to consider when choosing a dog that will go with your lifestyle.
