Neither of my huskies have been protective. We have jokes about it. Hubby often says that not only will our dogs let a burglar into the house, but the dogs will show the crook where we keep our valuables!

We are fortunate that they LOOK scary enough to make some people take notice and walk a little further away from me.

I've actually never seen a husky bare his teeth nor snarl... But I haven't know many huskies beyond my own. (I did hear Sandy, our first husky, sounding like a vicious killer one night when she laid into a possum in the dark back yard. I'm guessing there were some bared teeth at that time.)

Craziest thing just happened... My mom saw this pit outside wandering around, then this guy in a suit rings the doorbell (we were assuming the dog was his since it was following him) little did we know it wasn't and it rammed my mom to get in the house and Kale FLIPPED! He seriously wanted to attack! So here's me, holding a barking dachshund in one arm and the collar of Kale with this growling pit IN OUR HOUSE! Let's just say the guy was freaked and left WITHOUT helping... thanks dude your a really awesome human being. I've never heard those noises out of Kale before. Thankfully my mom kneed the pit outside without getting hurt. So I guess in retrospect I think Kale would defend us...at least from another dog hurting the "pack".

Update- fire department showed up, talked to them and it looks like it is my neighbors dog. Broke through the fence. ugh! So they are gonna call animal control. I live on a busy street so I hope he doesn't get hit in the meantime... Stupid people...maybe if they paid attention to their dogs once in a while they wouldn't feel the need to escape. (sry we've been having issues with their dogs trying to fence fight and barking constantly for a while now-rant over)

River doesnt care for older men and men with baseball hats on he goes nutts with barking and jumping hes torn my blinds from jumping on the window to show his mean side LOL but only if it at our house ... he really doesnt like my landlord

Mine will not. He would run up to them and ask if they had any treats and want to be petted.

mals tend to be more protective than huskies so this probably is my reasoning for Maggie! lol

Frosti is afraid of certain people - she didn't like people with sunglasses or hats on the first few months - and now it's just shady weird people with hoodies on that she barks at. It's out of fear, though - not a protective instinct.

Both, like most huskies, would welcome burglars in - Chili would show them where the treats are and Frosti would bolt out the open door to go run!

Nunya won't even bark unless he's scared or uncertain.
He's pretty much silent. If he's greeting a woman, sometimes he'll whine or yodel, and he mostly stays away from men.
Maybe this will change after we've had him for longer.
