Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

They both responded!

The family said it's not their fault that people lie to get their way and that she can do whatever she wants with the dog now. So if she chooses to adopt him out that's on her. The husband said he didn't feel safe giving the dog to me (/boggle) - their email was pretty hostile sounding

The rescue was really polite in their email - stating that they never approached them regarding the dog and that the family called them seeking help. She told the family they had room for the dog and that's where they brought it. She said she'd send me an application if I was still interested.

so that's that. I've now washed my hands of this situation and just hope that the dog finds a great forever home! Very Happy

Edit; after speaking with the lady at the rescue - apparently the poor dog was in pretty terrible shape (I knew of fleas) but apparently she hadn't had any shots, no nail trims, mud stuck in the fur. Etc. Sad

To think the husband didn't think you would be a good owner.................. what the hell were they?

Sounds like the dog is in a better place now - even though it sucks for you guys. Sad Sorry, that's so frustrating! I hope those owners never get a dog again!

No I can't go and get him now. Sad even though I'd love to it would cost me close to 400 dollars to travel there and pay her fee. Not at all doable with Christmas Sad.

I was a little shocked when I read that he said he didn't feel safe giving her to me.

And it does suck but it just wasn't meant to be. When the right one comes I'll know it. Smile

I have the Delaware Valley Siberian Rescue down here about an hour away from where I am. I check there every once in awhile.

They have the cutest little girl husky right now! :3

http://www.siberianhuskyrescue.org/data.php?s_id=100838&appid=db103777&action=view&id=122869

But still can't do it with the holidays. 235 to adopt her also.

I'm not pushing too hard for another one right now. I said I'd wait until Bella was two years old to get another puppy - it was just too good to be true when a 2 year old popped up while she was still a puppy. Know what I mean? lol
