We were wondering when the right age to start having meeka learn to pull, and how to teach her. She is 12 months old. Any advice would be appreciated!

Rule of thumb is a yr to a yr 1/2 so you can start light now for the next 6 months then start to increase weight. They are still growing up to 2yrs.

I lean towards 18 months myself, as Jennifer said if you do start now to start light. Also depends on what you are wanting her to pull. Bikejoring/scootering is okay, but remember that sledding requires 3+ dogs so no to that. They can pull a small kicksled alone, but being young still I would not recommend that until next winter. Also remember to start very slow, my Yuki is 16 months and just starting to bike with Link so I had to go from our 5 miles down to 1.5 so I could train her endurance up.

Thank you guys for the advice! We are really interested in trying bikejoring/scootering. but I didnt want to start meeka out too young. perhaps we will wait till shes a few months older to be on the safe side.

I here the surface is important to! I keep Snoopy on gravel and grass when I'm biking with him and he's 18 months. I'm going to avoid letting him run on pavement until he's at least two.
