| And, in her completely fearless fashion, went right up to him nose-to-nose LOL! She's been around horses since she came to us, and I've been training her on things like not going near their feet, staying in front and NEVER behind them etc. The picture is fuzzy but here you go: |

| Koda and Hailey came to the barn with me once. Koda walked right up to the biggest horse there and promptly launched himself at the horse's neck, who them turned around and bit his entire snout. He yelped, but he was fine.
Second confrontation... Koda walked right behind another horse's swinging tail and latched on and started a tug-of-war! I'm standing there holding the leash thinking, "Dear God, he's gonna get kicked!" The horse just looked at him like he had four heads and kept eating... LOL. Needless to say, Koda doesn't go near the horses anymore (it's also a chore to bring him, so I don't bother).
Hailey is SUPER interested in them, but she hasn't done more than stand up to say "Hi." Koda's just dumb and fearless. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Hahaha Koda sounds like Reiko. I have tried several times to get him used to horses, and every time he jumps up and tries to bite their face. |

| WOW! I trained our old Husky Bandit and now Nutmeg to "GO! DOWN! STAY!" the moment a horse walks into the barn. I know what you mean about fearless play/aggression though. Our other old Husky (possibly Malamute) Buddy was IMPOSSIBLE and aggressive--there was NO way we could ever even tie him in the barn or allow him near the horses. No doubt he would have bitten them! |

| I think it really depends on the husky and how hard you work to desensitize them. I don't own my own, although I go to the barn about once or twice a week, but that's just not enough time to teach him. I worked as the Equestrian Director at a summer camp a couple of summer ago and took Koda with me. He was around the horses pretty much 24/7 for 8 weeks and he never truly calmed down around them enough to give him direction. I'd tie him out by the flag pole and he'd still freak out. I have a couple of pictures where he FINALLY would lay down around them, but it was so late in the summer that I couldn't really get any training in. Koda's just a nut _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |
