Kodiak just recently started drinking toilet water even though we keep 2 large bowls fill with clean water. We try keeping the doors closed but we always forget so now we don't use any of the toilet bowl bar cleaners. Anyone else have this problem?

My old dog and the cats used to drink out of the toilet all the time. I think you are doing the right thing keeping the doors closed and the toilet lids closed and not using toilet bar cleaners.

Micole just started doing this as well thanks to her bigger brother teaching her bad habits... I probably wouldn't have so many issues if he wasnt teaching her these things lol but if I forget to close lids or doors when i hear them i remove them and close everything. Just try to remember to close them. Dont think it will hurt then as long you dont have the cleaners in there.

Kay does this. She lifts the lid and seat off and just drinks out of it, lol. We keep the doors closed now.

My cat does this. I used to bust him climbing up there and drinking out of it even though he had a full bowl of fresh water. Weirdo. I secretly was waiting for him to fall in so I could laugh at him. I'm so mean. I just wouldn't use the cleaners or anything. If there's no cleaners in it it's just tap water anyway.

Both cat and dog do this so we have to be careful to keep the lid down. It's disgusting

We caught Loki doing it twice. So after 7 years of living together, Loki has taught Kevin to put the toilet down. lol! Loki hasn't figured out how to open it yet.

The first day I had Loki he did this. I gave a loud & sharp "No!" and (luckily) he hasn't done it since.

I'm sure many dogs have drank much worse, though it is gross.

Molly sometimes does it, but I always make sure all the bathrooms doors are close. She also likes to mess with the toilet paper lol.

My dog drank all the toilet water out of my guest bathroom the other night. Someone forgot to close it and I was asleep on the couch. Needless to say, Juno pee'd bigtime in the house two times that night. I have a REALLY hard time with Juno and her drinking. I can't let her drink all the water she wants or she will pee every 5 minutes. So I have to only give her one ounce per pound that she weighs.

As far as toilet paper...juno grabs anything out of the garbage. I have had to take my roommates tampons out of her mouth TWICE now....hahahahahaha.....that is not a fun experience, lol. Why do dogs like women's used tampons? Yes I know it's gross.....

Yes...kleenex....basically ANYTHING that has the smell or taste of something that has come out of a human body, lol. I can't understand it....but I guess that's why she's a dog and I'm not. Very Happy
