| Subject: My Mom's Cat... Fri Jan 04, 2013 1:54 am | |
| So we recently discovered that my mom's cat is very protective of Nunya. Snoopy is a dominant dog, and he's been picking fights with Nunya. Well, the other day, they got into an argument in the middle of the living room. I got up and as I was separating them, my mom's cat, Kick Start, come out of no where, hissing and spitting, all fluffed up and attacked Snoopy. My brother picked up Kick Start and put him on the couch, but while I was putting Snoopy in the kennel, Kick Start attacked him again and I managed to push him out of the way so I could close the door, which he proceeded to attack.
Has anybody else experienced something like this? It was really weird but really hilarious |

| My sisters cats used to do it to Embry all the time. It was so annoying and drove me crazy. They still do it to this day when they see my dogs. |

| His name was Damn It (by my dad who was sooo thrilled about getting another cat haha) first, but since I was only in the seventh grade when we got him we decided to change his name so it was school appropriate. I guess he was laying on the kitchen floor kicking out one of his back legs repeatedly and mom said Kick Start and he meowed at her so that was his name.
It doesn't irritate me because he only does it when Snoopy is being aggressive with Nunya. Kick Start used to scream whenever Nunya walked by him, or if he walked by Nunya to see if he could get Nunya in trouble for "harassing him." This cat is to smart for his own good. Anyways, now he doesn't scream at Nunya but he won't STOP screaming at Snoopy. I think he's rebelling, saying "I'll put up with the old one, just get rid of the new one!" |

| Top dog in our house is a cat.
He'll get in between the girls as they jump and play and swat and hiss at them until they stop.
He'll also take over the largest dog bed we have and lay right in the middle of it so no one else can get on it... If they get close he hisses and swats at them. If they are already laying on it he'll smack them in the face to get them off every now and again.
Kelly and I call him "Asshole" cause he is just always being one to someone.
He plays with them too though... He'll chase Tika all through the house in a playful manner all the time.
Oddly enough he is also the most cuddly cat I've ever owned, he just isn't right in the head.....

| Haha! I love cats that'll hold their ground. Our's don't steal beds or anything, but they aren't shy to defend themselves against playful pups.
My boyfriend brought his seven month old dog over, who chases cats because their cats don't stand up for themselves, and the first thing he did in the house was run up to my eight month-old female kitten. She immediately puffed up and growled and smacked him in the face and he didn't harass her for the rest of the visit. |
