2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Droopy Eyes/Lidded Eyes Empty
PostSubject: Droopy Eyes/Lidded Eyes   Droopy Eyes/Lidded Eyes EmptySat Dec 29, 2012 12:28 pm

Hey Everyone,

A friend of mine got an 8 week old siberian husky a week and a half ago. She noticed his eyes sag or appear droopy/lidded. The puppy's father has the same look as well. She emailed her breeder and the breeder assured her that the mother and father are completely healthy.

Her puppy has been to the vet intially with her but I do not believe my friend happened to notice the eyes until after having him for a few days and after the vet appointment. She goes back with her pup to the vet in a few weeks and will ask the vet then but being a new husky owner she is a bit worried since a large majority of pics she has seen of huskies do not have this look to their eyes.

She has not had a chance to post on the forum yet because of a hectic work schedule, so I am posting for her. She is hoping anyone can give her some insight into the look of the eyes on both the father and her pup and or if anyone has owned a siberian husky or come across one with similar look. My friend is curious if the droppy eye look will go away or fade or if it is a reason to be concerned about anything.

Below are 2 photos of the puppy and one of the father she wanted to share with everyone.

Her puppy is very active and alert and acting "normal" for a puppy.

The puppy

Thanks for any help and advice. My friend very much appreciates it. She does belong to this forum, knows I am posting for her and can read replies and comments.

Thanks

Jess and Scott

Thanks again scott for posting this!

Sorry I didnt get to post this myself. Im actually at work as I write this out, on my cell! Anyways can you post a picture of his droppy eyes as a
Pup and now?

Honestly never even noticed it until my sister commented on it. I googled it and
Noticed they were different. So I was worried there might be something wrong with my poor little guy XD

I would bring it up to the vet when you take him in to get shots if you're concerned. I doubt it's an issue beyond being esthetically unique.

By the way-- He's super cute! I personally prefer unique looking huskies that deviate from the "standard." The only exception is the oh-so-beautiful Karnovanda Siberian's. I could stare at those dogs for hours I love you

I think it's pretty normal too. Lycus has droopy eyes a lot of times too. Every time he stares at me when they're droopy, I feel as if he's cussing me out and does't give a shit about me in his head lol, they can look as if they don't care about anything.
