So I have a female Siberian Husky and shes 7 months old. She weights 44lbs last time i checked (couple days ago) and every where i go people tell me how skinny she looks... Right now Im feeding her 20oz total (1.25lbs) a day in raw food. Is this a normal weight?

Mine weighed just under 35 lbs. at 7 months.

From what I can tell it really does differ for different dogs. If you can't see her ribs when she's just standing, but can easily feel them when you pet her, you're probably good.

You can't base it just on weight. We'd need to know how tall she is, maybe take photos of her from the side and birds eye view. Most people don't realize huskies should be lean.

Are her hip bones sticking out? It's kinda hard to tell from the second picture, it looks like it could be leg muscle. Take ordinary folks comments with a grain of salt. I have a lot of people tell me that Juneau looks skinny. I meet with husky friends all of the time and they tell me that she's slightly bigger for her age! Juneau isn't fat, she still has her tummy tuck.

My Juneau is around 19 inches (I think, maybe 20) tall at the shoulders and weighs 41 pounds. They should have the tummy tuck (which is apparent in your second picture). She looks good. Her coat looks just like Juneau's! Except the face.

I can't see any individual ribs so I'd say she is just really lean. Does she act like she is still hungry after she finishes eating?

She looks a lot like Ghost does actually. You can't see ribs on her either, she's just super lean. We get comments *all* the time of how small and/or how skinny she is. Funny, she's 23" tall and weighs ~45 lbs, which is big for a female.

If she isn't acting hungry after she finishes a meal, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Ghost will skip meals from time to time actually. Huskies are a lot like kids, in that they go through weird body stages as they grow and mature. Just keep an eye on her, and if you start to see ribs or she's acting super hungry, bump up her food intake a little.

I wouldn't invest too much thought into it. She could be going through a lanky period in time. Nicky is 8 months old and weighs around 40 lbs. She looks pretty skinny too, but she eats like a hog! That girls stomach is the bottomless pit! Thankfully, she's super active, which is why she is so skinny.

You'll find most siberian owners will get this comment as a lot of people are just plain stupid and don't realize a siberian husky isn't a malamute. They expect your dog to be fat and fluffy, and arguing with them is pointless. As long as you can't see the ribs you should be fine ^.-

She sounds just like Ghost. We're constantly telling her "eat your breakfast!" Razz
