2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hi Everyone,

I currently have a 19 month husky female and am currently considering bringing home an 8 week old yorkie. I am concerned though if my husky will hurt her unintentionally. I already seen my husky once with my neighbor's rabbit dead in her mouth but never saw what happened. What are your opinions on me bringing home the yorkie?

If a picture says 1000 words here is mine. But i did have the terrier before the wolfdogBringing a small breed to our family 20200111

Really it all depends on both dogs personalities. With the age size thing they will have to be supervised when together. Mine are pair bonded and still i have to slow it down sometimes, i dont think spider would intentionally hurt splinter but with a 50 lb difference splinter could get stepped on or tripped over and get hurt. And mine kill and eat rabbits and it never translated to small dogs. Lots of people woth huskies have small dogs. And a yorkie is a firecracker chances are it will be the alpha

Lol. I love the last part of your reply! I have also seen many husky with yorkie videos on youtube and all show the same fact as your reply. Thank you 😊👌🏼

We have a cat (felix) and he rules every one! He bosses Skye around(my husky) and if she doesn’t move or give him her food he will start taking swipes at her, she’s never been bothered by him. And Skye has killed many of rabbits mice rats😊

Mine have killed cats. Not the 2 in that pic mainly squirt, but squirt has also killed livestock and probably a few hundred rabbits. Spiders focus is on 1 particular magpie that harasses her.

Liv_Shye,
Did you bring your husky or cat home first?

Skye was around 19 months when we got him. Yes Skye has chased Deer rabbits, but she’s absolutely fine with our horse which i find confusing😂 ?? I’ve got on my old phone Skye and our horse laying together😂

Just introduce them slowly, maybe let her see your Yorkie on neutral territory. And walk home together and keep toys and food away any thing your husky might be jealous over, just for a week or two x
