2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. A 6 week puppy with vomiting and diarrhea can go south really fast - take him to a vet.

Depends on how severe the diarrhes and vomiting is - dehydration is a killer in young pups. If your pup is lethargic, skin is loose, and "tenting" (you pull, gently some skin up and it does not immediately return to normal), his mouth his sticky, has slow capillary refill, then you have an emergency and that needs attention now.

If he is able to keep fluid down, and he is still acting like a puppy, then maybe you're ok until tomorrow.

The question is - how long has this been going on, how is the pup acting, is he losing weight, can he keep fluids down, are you comfortable recognizing the symptoms of dehydration, electrolite imbalance.

As Amy said as long as your puppy is not dehydrated and is acting like a puppy it may be the food. If your puppy is sleepy, and not being a puppy I would rush to the vet, certain diseases such as parvo will kill a puppy quick, let alone dehydration.

What are you currently feeding your puppy and how much. Overfeeding and certain items in dog food will cause severe diarrhea in puppies. Also, since your pup is very young, common separation from mom and litter mates is 8-10 weeks old and not 6 weeks old, your pup may not have been completely weened from it's mother. This may be a contributing factor in why your pup is sick.

A good quality puppy kibble. I use taste of the wild, high prairie. Make sure it is for puppies - there is also one for adult dogs. tractor supply usually has fairly decent prices and they are in many locations.
