Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hey everyone,

My name is Traci and my husband and I just recently became husky parents! I've been reading stories and different information on the site and felt that it was a good site to join. To be honest we didn't do a bunch of research on siberian huskies we are free spirits and we go with the flow. When we saw Rocco we immediately fell in love with him and knew he was meant to be ours. Since then we have done research and we're not afraid to take on the challenge. Our older dog CJ is a black lab/ brittany spaniel mix, he is the size of the spaniel and has the fur to match, but has the coloring and personality of the lab. He sheds all the time and our home has hardwood and laminate throughout so we are used to sweeping 2-3 times a day lol. CJ is a rescue that we got from a "pet store". It has since been shut down because of their cruelty towards the animals. CJ had a rib broken there when he was a puppy, he was petrified and right as we were about to leave he wanted to play because he didn't want us to leave. We got the stuff and went back and got him. He is now 8 years old. He has been an only dog, but has been around other dogs constantly his whole life. He is very reserved around Rocco and runs from him when Rocco wants to play, but he is slowly starting to warm up to him. When Rocco gets in his space he snips at him and puts his mouth over his snout, but never bites. Rocco backs up and leaves him alone. Which I am thankful he does that, I really enjoy the fact that he is also helping to raise Rocco and help teach him boundaries. He still bites every now and then, but we yelp as suggested by another site and it startles him. We then distance ourselves from him for about 5 minutes and he doesn't try to bite for a while after that lol. We are working on potty training with him, he gets a treat for going outside to potty and if he goes on the floor we do scold him and then take him outside to his "potty spot". My brother got a siberian husky from the same litter and named her Sasha so Rocco still has his sister that he sees everyday and gets to play with everyday. Anything else you would like to know please ask as I am an open book. My avatar is a picture of him from the day he came home and we were at my parents house with him and Sasha.
