Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

My oldest came home with a friend and one of them didn't close the security door all the way. We were in the kithen making dinner and doing home work when my husband went in the living room and noticed the screen open. We looked around the house then I went out front and called out for him. He comes booking it from around the corner straight into the house. I do not know how long he was gone or what he was doing but boy, did we get lucky. I know he has never been able to totally open up and run like that, he is really fast and I am thankful I did have to chase him down. I am very happy he didn't get hurt, it was maybe 2 minutes from the time we noticed he got out to the time he came running back home...everyone had a two minute panic attack.

Thanks for Nanook's recall..

Blaze got out the other day (my fault) John when after him he proceed to take a walk in the neighborhood looking behind him several times looking to see John was following him.. He took a walk in a path we go in several times a week. I told john he just wanted to walk himself lol .. When we finally go him home put him in the house and took Kerian for a walk by herself (with a leash of course ).

The funny thing is Nanook has HORRIBLE recall!! Maybe some of all my work is sinking in, even though 99% of the time he doesn't like to show it! LOL

I've lost both mine more than once...they don't have recall at all!!

The only way I'm able to get them back is if I follow them with the jeep, open up the back and call them. Then they both come running in.

But yes, def a heart stopping feeling!

Denali escape done day about 6 years ago and we finally found her 4 hours later stuck in a horse pen. Somehow she got in it but because of the wire, she couldn't get out. It was 95F that day and she was thirsty and tired when we finally found her.
