Chicken Wire installation Empty
PostSubject: Chicken Wire installation    Chicken Wire installation EmptyMon Sep 09, 2013 3:00 pm

Anybody have any tips about chicken wire installation beneath a wooden fence?

There's about a 2 inch gap between the fence and the ground.

As I understand and have seen the all you need to do is dig a 3-4 inch deep trench along the fence and about 2 feet out from the fence, bend the wire in a right angle and lay it down along the fence, roughly 2/3s the length of the wire is then on the ground and 1/3 of the length up along the fence, staple the wire to the fence, and then bury the wire on the ground and then possible put rocks or bricks or whatever on the dirt.

Is that it?

any tips or pics would be awesome. Thanks folks.

I want to do something similar but I would like to use those nice garden pavers to line the fence line with. This is a future project of ours.

I am interested in the response too! I have 12 inch white oak boards into the ground to keep out bunnies, but thinking maybe I should go further.

I just had to say it is kind of funny to see a profile picture of a husky swimming and a signature that you do not want a lab. You know labs are water dogs, right? Just kidding.

I was hoping some folks had some "yeah, but....."s to offer.

Haha, there's a funny back story to that, I'm assuming from before you joined by your post count alone.

Probably best if I don't reopen that can of worms, however Wink
