Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

This isn't the first time but I'm becoming more concerned now because he's gotten sick from it! Kronos will be 7months at the end of June and he acts like he isn't potty trained but he knows better! If I'm away at work for more than 5 hours he will sometimes poop in his crate and eat it which in return makes him super sick. He throws up multiple times and then has diarrhea the rest of the day. I don't know what to do anymore!! I feel so sorry for him when he is sick because I hate seeing him in pain but he needs to learn not to eat his poop! Any idea why he keeps eating it? You would think after doing it 3-4 times and getting real sick after every time that he would stop....but no Sad

That sounds horrible! I'm sorry you're dealing with that! So, what I would do, honestly, is put lampshade on him and see if that would keep him from being able to eat it. He may think eating it is better than laying in it, or maybe he got in trouble once for going and is afraid to leave it. Either way is super icky! I'm sure its not fun to deal with him being sick either! Is there anyway you could hire a dog walker, at least temporarily, to stop by midday? That way even if he has an accident they can clean it up before its there for too long. Smile Good luck! I hope he feel better!

I'm not sure why he does it lol. I think he feels bad that he made a mess and he tries to clean it up before we see it. But, (I know he doesn't understand me lol) I've told him I don't care if he poops ill clean it up I just don't want his silly self eating it Sad lol. I think if he keeps it up I'm going to get meat tenderizer. Yesterday was a good day though! No poop eating! Smile

Mine has this problem, but the thing is, he ONLY eats human poop, blah. On the trail near my house there are several people hiking everyday from all over the world, and when they have to go they have to go i guess, the thing is.. other dog's poop he sniffs and then thats it, on people's on the other hand, he doesnt even smell, just goes and eats it.. is it my fault for not paying attention ?
