| I may need to board Evo over the week of Thanksgiving and the two weeks of Christmas. He used to go to a place near me but now he's the largest dog they have EVER had (33" at the back ) and he intimidates all the smaller dogs. (Apparently, they don't like finding out if their head fits in his mouth) Can anyone tell me where you board your huskies? We tried Pet Paradise in New Orleans but he never gets to run and play. This dog NEEDS to run and play! Kira can go to the usual place if needed - she's not very sociable anymore. I just need somewhere that Evo can be allowed to wear himself out by the end of the day. Thanks! Jessica |

| I know people who have had really good luck with Camp Bow Wow, but the closest one to you is in Tampa/Riverview. If you're willing to do the driving, I think the results would be worth it Camp Bow Wow Florida Otherwise, sometimes you can have really good luck with local places. I would google "Dog Day Care" in Orlando and see who does boarding. Be careful though, most places need an "assessment" first to make sure Evo plays nice with others. The good places will match him up with a dog who plays similarly to Evo, so I wouldn't worry about it. Here's what I found on a simple google search: Preppy Pet Day Care and Boarding This place honestly looks great and the prices are SUPER reasonable! My best advice is go visit the place on your own and then with your dogs to see how you like it. We're pretty snobby with where we let Koda go, but it's only because so few places actually understand that huskies are a breed with a unique set of needs Good luck! _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Thanks for the suggestions! I'm checking out Preppy Pet and Dog Day Afternoon this week! Both can handle Gigantor and have tons of Huskies, Danes, Mastiffs and Shepherds who stay over the holidays so Evo should be absolutely exhausted by the time I get back! Woo Hoo!!! |

| Dog Day Afternoon is a good place and there's also a fairly new boarding facility right by me called Fur & Feathers Pet Resort here in Winter Garden. I've not used either but I've heard decent things about both. I've only boarded my sibe once when we lived in Washington state and we left him at our vets boarding facility. He did not do well with the whole boarding thing so I try to take him with us when we travel if at all possible, so far I've not had to board him again. _________________ |

| I am currently looking at Dog Day Afternoon and Preppy Pet...Both allow him to play ALL day! That's what is important to me! He can't be in a kennel for 2 weeks - he has to have play time! DDA is more expensive than PP - by $200 for the 9 days over Thanksgiving - but we are going to have a trial play day at each and see how it goes.
Thanks for the help! I bought him a harness as DDA requires one and that's made a huge difference in his behavior at home as well. I'm so tired that I just don't have the strength and energy to handle him and give him the playtime he needs. I can't wait to get to Portland where we will rent a house with a fenced yard! The FREEDOM!!! LOL |
