Hi guys,

I will be getting my first dog in two weeks and I had a few questions regarding puppy food. I asked the breeder where i am getting the puppy what food they were giving him. She informed me that she is giving them

PC Extra Meaty Dry Puppy Food - Chicken & Brown Rice Formula

I tried looking online but could not find any info on it. I am thinking about feeding my dog raw but the breeder told me to wait until he is 1 year or it will upset his stomach. Also is it ok to feed puppies expired meat?

I would not feed expired meat, even to an adult dog. I have an 11 week old and am feeding a partial raw diet, raw and kibble, so the one year thing I think is incorrect. Many people start raw when pup comes home. Huskies are sensitive and many do not do well on a grain diet. Look for a grain free with meat being first ingredient. Orijen, Acana, Fromm, are excellent examples of a quality food huskies do well on. the food you mentioned gets a 4 star on dog food advisory, yet dog food analysis does not recommend, because of too much grain.

Welcome to the forum, we love pics here, can't wait until we meet him/her

I can't add anything to what my fellow Texan has said, other than welcome to the forum and "Where's the pics??" Smile

I just saw your message I feed Cora now freash large puppy food (I feed Cora large because she is part GDS) you can find this food in pet valu! It's pretty okay as a food cora likes it and on most review sites they say it's above average, but I would like to start Cora on raw once I figure it all out. Personally I know a few people with puppies who ate raw from a very young age.
