Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

My Huskies ear is weird? 8e65f04591ff415e953420b80d1cbb89_A

my husky puppy's left ear is very slanted to the right ear. Its really concerning me and i just wanted to know what can cause this. I don't want to bring her into the vet unless there's no other choice cause its a 70 dollar checkup fee. i just wanted to know is this normal or is it a serious problem. It is a lot worse in person then it is in this picture. Her ears wasn't like this 3 days ago. They both looked like her right ear. shes only 11 weeks old.

did she fall on it or on her head at all? Could it be sprained? Is it uncomfortable for her if you touch it or move it?

no she lets me touch her ears. she did have play session at a puppy social today but her ear was already tilted slightly before we took her to a puppy social. She falls on her back and stuff all the time when she tries to climb onto the couch. the left ear smells a little more musty then then right ear but its not a extremely horrible oder.

You don't see as much weird ears with huskies but you see that a ton with German Shepherds it's just growing up.

I google German Shepherd puppies and found this as one of the top images.

Just looks like a puppy to me sometimes they look a little silly as they are growing. When he was littler my boy looked like he had tiny tail till it grew a bit and matched the rest of him.

Always keep an eye on the ears and make sure they stay clean but as long as you pup doesn't mess with them or shake his head a ton and they are not red or really dirty and smelly I wouldn't worry. If any of those happen is when I would contact the vet.
