Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

nipping on the butt? Empty
PostSubject: nipping on the butt?   nipping on the butt? EmptyThu Jun 11, 2009 12:25 pm

So I don’t know if other Huskies do this or it is just Jack but when he gets excited for a walk or wants our attention he will come up behind me and nip nicely at my butt like a hey lets go kind of thing, it does not hurt I think it is funny and cute but is it something I should be concerned about? He nips kens legs as well. The thing is he catches us off guard when he does it, like this morning I was getting the poop bag to bring on the walk and he comes up behind me and grabs my butt cheek in his mouth and im like OH HAY watch it there! Does this happen to any of you?

LMAO- I've posted on another place with the same thing! I love it and think it's hysterical.

lol!

Koda used to only do it to women too... we had a party and he was circling the kitchen "biting" butts so that the girls thought one of the guys was being cheeky Wink (I said that just for you Cath)

It's very normal, so there's no need to correct it at all unless it bothers you (because they will do it to guests as well). I don't know why huskies do it as opposed to just all dogs in general. Someone a bit more experienced might be able to answer that for us...

lol! Thanks hun!

Dino doesn't bite butts (bums in English) or anything else anymore but Ava nips just about anything she can reach with her little puppy pirahna (?sp) teeth.

Sitka doesn't nip at butts but he does poke you in the side with his nose. It's like he knows the exact spot that is ticklish and bumps it like he's some sort of dolphin. It's kind of funny.
