Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. | Subject: Minimise Scar Mon Dec 03, 2012 8:15 pm | |
| I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any suitable oils or creams to help reduce the scaring.
Arya had to get stitches last week after getting a bite in daycare, she jumped on one of the older dogs while he/she was a sleep and got a telling off. it is very minor at the back of the ear where her ear joins the head, its an L shaped wound 1/1.5 cm each way.
when the wound heals I want make minimize scaring if there is some.
Thanks Col |

| Vitamin E is a good oil to use. You can get it anywhere in the pill section at your local grocery. I believe it comes in a lotion form as well. It's also good to use on chapped paws or chaffed skin. I have a scar on my forehead and my parents used this stuff to keep it from showing! It worked great. It's safe to use on your pup. |

| Vitamin E as mentioned by Jackie, and/or aloe vera gel, without the green dye. Both will soothe and help minimize scaring. You can use both on top of the stitches as well, as they also aid in the healing process. |
