Runny Poop and some other random questions Empty
PostSubject: Runny Poop and some other random questions   Runny Poop and some other random questions EmptyTue Aug 14, 2012 1:36 pm

I Just read someone elses post about her doggie having bright orange runny poop. Well, for the past 2 days, my puppy has had runny poop. It's not orange or anything. It's actually greenish brown. I called the vet and they told me to wait a couple more days and if it still persists, to bring him in then. They also said it could be because of the food change. When we got him from the breeder he was on some purina dog food, but we switched him to blue buffalo large breed puppy food. I don't think it's the food, because he's been on it for almost 2 weeks now, and this just began a couple days ago. I also read some peoples suggestions that they started feeding their doggie that had similar issue rice and chicken. If i do this can i use turkey instead of chicken, and do i shread/chop or grind the meat before feeding it to him? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Some additional info: he's 9 weeks old, and I just realized as i'm typing this that the runny poop started the day after he got his 2nd round of shots. Could this have anything to do with it? Thank you! Also, since i'm here lol do any of you use trifexis flea/heartworm medicine and if not, which do you use? The breeder used revolution, but i'm wanting a pill and not something topical. thank you so much!

Your pup may just be reacting to the shots he just had. If he has been doing well on his food without issue prior to his second round of shots, I wouldn't change it - but maybe try giving him a little canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) with his food - about 1/2 tablespoon since he's only 9 weeks old. He should get better in a couple of days if it's because of his shots.
