| Hi all!
So my puppy is 8 weeks old and has been with me for exactly 1 week today! I started feeding him Royal Canin brand dog food, and for the first couple days he would be so excited to eat! Then he didn't want to touch it. I added some water to make it a little softer- and he ate it once and was done with it. I tried to bribe him by sprinkling a little cheese on it and he (no idea how) picked out EVERY SINGLE shread of cheese but didn't eat his dog food! I then purchased some blue buffalo dog food- and the same thing. He does love his treats though! Anyways, I've decided that I want to cook healthy nutritional meals for my puppy. One's that he'll love. So after that ramble- my question to you guys is: What type of supplement should I use to add to my food that I make, to ensure he is getting everything he needs? I've done some research on Dinovite- but am not sure. What do you guys think? Ideas? Suggestions? Thank you! |

| Switching a dogs food every time they turn their nose up at it creates a picky eater. Most people here advocate "tough love" when it comes to not eating dog food. A healthy dog, or puppy will not willingly starve itself.
As for the home meals, I'd research raw feeding if it something you are interested in doing. No reason to cook the food, it destroys a majority of the nutrients. Their digestive tracts are better designed to eat raw. |
