hey everyone looking for some input or ideas Smile

Claudia and I are in charge of making some gift baskets or finding things to help raise money for the husky rescue we volunteer for. these items will be given or raffled away based on donations. i forget the reason but we can't sell stuff but can give this away for free based off of a donation given: $10 donation gets you a free shirt....

what are some things you would give a donation for in order to receive something and what prices? we don't want to buy things people dont care about.

so far we have some marginal collars that we take donations for, we will be getting new shirts soon.

i went to ross and found some med sz paw print treat containers that i will either bake bones to put in or would you like the option to make your own bones and i could put all the ingredients and a bone shape cutter in there.

i also got a paw print bella bowl

what else could we get that would get people to give us donations?

im thinking about busting out my sewing machine and making bandannas over the winter maybe.

the items we get at this point are coming out of our pocket till the rescue has enough money to support things like this, the idea is to not spend much but get a larger donation then what we paid for it.

thanks for the ideas!

i like the bandanna idea, have you tried contacting dog supply companies to see if they're willing to donate things such as gift cards?

till we have all the new biz cards and paper work and what not were not really ready to talk to companies, i stopped at a small shop near my work and she said they get asked a ton and they don't really give stuff out, gave me the cold shoulder.

Definitely t shirts! I will always donate a few bucks for a t shirt Smile The bandana idea is good as well, and I think baskets full of small toys and treats would be awesome.

I made a basket to be raffled off for one of my ensemble fundraisers. I had a local photographer donate a photo shoot. I then bought some picture frames at Hobby Lobby (they are always nice and cost practically nothing). What made it absolutely cool was a couple won it that has 6 kids and never was able to afford a family portrait because most around here charge sitting fee per person.

You know I didn't even to think about it. I just had it printed out on paper and everything was in a little basket. I have tons of baskets here for some reason.....I hoard them lol. But that would be a great idea to buy a dog related frame and put the offer in it.

I like the bandana idea too! I was actually on ebay a few days ago looking for bandanas for the pups and they have pretty good deals! Like 12 assorted prints for $10 or something. You just have to look carefully.

Also, a basket with toys and treats is a good idea. I would donate $ for that. Dollar store toys and you're good to go!

Target has some great cheap dog toys - we got a rope toy for about $1 and some other ones for $2. Shop around, did you know that different Targets have different pricing? Shocked Apparently the managers set the pricing!
