Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Saw this roll across. Know there will be mixed feeling, rage, and general confusion and nervousness from many until something is set in stone I'm sure.

Wall Street Journal will apparently only let you read article as a non-subscriber on mobile so here's a shorter not as good article on it for those on desktop.

Ya it seems so  one of the reason I chose Orijen/Acana for my three huskies was because it originated in Edmonton Alberta, where I grew up and had all our pets growing up on it. I feel like they already sold out when they started producing in Kentucky to save on costs. Their quality seems awful compared to before now that we've been getting the "Made in Kentucky" bags in Michigan for my pups. NTY Nestle. I am on a hunt for a replacement.

Here is a before and after of Zoey's coat since it became impossible to get Canadian kibbles.

After, its awful but her BW and everything else is normal so vet couldn't recommend much.

Wow, that is a heck of a visual. Orijen lost me when they stopped selling through chewy and more easily accessed sources. I would get their Regional Red Freeze dried for when we would go on long trips. I get tired of having orders strung out through too many online sites and then having to have too many different places with logins and then the newsletters you always get even though you checked the box that you don't want them. So I swapped to Grandma Lucy's and the dogs have done well with it on the trips and it's much easier to rehydrate. Just can't use it as a dry treat on the trail like the Orijen patties.

I will say. My cat is on Merrick some of the time and when Purina bought out Merrick some years ago they didn't change it. If they treat it like they did Merrick then the recipe and where they source is unlikely to change, but since it seems the quality from its more recent source is already not what it once was it is unlikely to get better. Just remain the same.
