Week 17 brings us to a CHUNKY puppy!
We had snow arrive for Saturday morning so we got some fun in the snow even though by the time we went to puppy class it was done. Non official weight update 34.3lbs but at first they said 33 and his sister who has been a steady 2 lbs less was 35 lbs the day before. Official vet check on Wed.


Playing can be tiring!

Then this morning Vlad tried to get me to stay home, oh the willpower I needed to resist.
I just wanted to tweak his nose.

He is just so sweet...you must have a will of iron to resist that little face.

Hehe, Loki will do that too, he just plops down outside when he gets tired, and I'm sure he would sleep outside if we let him. Vlad is growing up so fast, but he keeps getting cuter! He is one handsome pup!

Week 18 means we have surpassed the 4 month mark, got our puppy shots completed, saw 36 lbs pass by on the scale, and had our first official meet! and as a special treat his first ice pool that he LOVES! Also he got his first frozen smelt, yummy.

Aww, Baylin has such a sweet face. Vlad looks awesome! I love his build and everything! He looks so grown up and everything, but I know from my pics of Kohdi at 4 months that it's kinda an illusion, he was still pretty tiny but had the grown up look already.

We have had a few of those moments leaving the dog park and Loki just passes right out once he is in the car! I love it! I only wish more people lived in my area with husky's, meets would be so much fun! The ice pool is a super awesome idea too, he looks like he is having so much fun!!! Keep them coming, i love looking at pictures of your little guy!

Yes that pool is awesome and it folds up into the size of a set of king sheets! It is a friends pool and I am really liking it. I might get one even though we have our kiddie plastic pool. Here is the link to the pool in that picture. folding pool Large

Week 19 brought us to our fundraising but it was a hot day so the dogs got to check out the toy store, the bar, and the restaurant....
The boys thought the bar was cool I thought it was neat to have dogs in a bar. Plus look how long Vlad is!!!

Then Vlad wandered up to the ER Care vendor booth and they had a cooler that said Canine Watering hole. He took it literal and hopped right in! Definitely loves his ice!
He was a hit. They were all talking about him and thought it was wonderful.
Plus he got a spray on tattoo to be like his Daddy.

Then that evening I caught the boys pondering life as I tried to get a "marking" picture as I am trying to figure Vlad's markings and coat. (PS STILL CHANGING). Actually after taking this picture I found out that Vlad had his first prey caught in his paws. He had a dead baby racoon. He was proud of himself.

And since I was trying for "markings" I finally got this one this morning before leaving for work. Interesting changes in the coat going on there Vlad! The crown is apricot and the back had brown gray. Not sure what type of red he will be but this is very interesting to watch the changes.

He is beautiful - such a fluff ball, I just want to hug him Sounds like y'all had a great day.

Any chance the raccoon baby had rabies?

Amy, The baby was cold when I got Vlad to drop him and had a misshapen jaw so we think he was deformed and abandoned under a bush. Since it was cold on a hot day he definitely did not kill it and was just playing with it after he found it. No worries of Vlad being bitten. Raccoons and rabies in Ohio are found in the NE and I live in the SW so we are good there too. Also last case of rabies in my county was bat back in early 2013. He just had his rabies shot on the 13 th so he has lots of antibodies right now too.

Oh my gosh Colleen....Vlad is gorgeous, love the pics, and I dare say he is almost as long as Bourbon, he is going to be a big boy. 40 pounds? I want to hear how much, he probably is, haha.

He just now weighes in at 40.1 lbs he will be 19 weeks old on Thursday

Okay week 20 brings us to Vlad graduating puppy class at 40.1 lbs on Tuesday last week. Then we had our first big away time. The family was away for 12.5 hours. Thank goodness I have great girlfriends that one came over for a play date and another to feed in the evening. Vlad got more energy out the day I was gone then the day before or after. Actually yesterday everyone was a slug because they were so active while I was gone!

Before I left for the day I knew he would need help expending his energy because this was at 730 in the morning!

So I had to tell him how good he was for everyone else. He ignored me.


Yesterday he was supper lazy and just wanted to hang in the "woods".  He was at a real odd husky angle but he moved and I caught him like this.

As you can see he does love me sometimes!

That door picture is hilarious. Sometimes I have to wonder if mine do anything like that to the sunroom but I've never caught it. Is he licking dew off the glass or is this some kind of ploy for attention?

He is scrapping his teeth along going up the door to get my attention. He has done it a couple times in the last few weeks. This was the first time I caught and so much tongue. (It sounds kind of like fingernails on a chalkboard a little deeper or denser in tone.
