Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

Thought I would share some pictures of the dogs I got to hang out with this weekend. Pixie Heather (all white and very out of coat) Ziggy Stevie (actually didn't hang out with her but wanted a picture before she went in the ring) Random Rottie (Didn't hang out with him either but he was ringside as I was leaving so....) My most favoritest dog in the entire world - Fizzy Another Fizzy <3 And last but not least, Beau! <3 _________________

Blue ends tend to be more perfectly round which is a fault in the breed. The almond shaped eye is standard.

You can have almond shaped eyes and have them be blue Blue eyes actually creates an illusion that the eye is too round. _________________

Right, but the illusion is still going to be less desirable, yeah?

Yes, but the way you had made it sound was the the color made the eye round instead of simply creating an illusion. At least that was how I read it. I apologize if I misunderstood _________________

haha, ok, no that was not my intention. I mean think about it, the color itself is on the eyeball itself...the shape is created by the skin around the eye, not the eyeball itself. So the color of the eyeball is not responsible for the shape of the eye, because that is determined by the skin around the eye. At least that's what I would think makes the most sense. Whether or not the color of the eyeball is correlated to actual shapes of the skin around the eye or not (in other words if it is actually different based on color or it is in fact an illusion), I have no idea In the show ring, it is the shape that counts.

As I have come to learn - everything in showing a dog is an illusion - at least the aspects that you can control. lol It is actually rather silly. _________________
